Abstract

GARİP” POETICS AS A KENOSİSTİC TENDENCY
The poets, who are called as “Garip” in Post-republican Turkish Poetry and present a new sense of poetry under the leadership of Orhan Veli, wanted to gain a place in the field of poetry for themselves by opposing various measures, mainly form and shape, of Turkish poetry. These poets’ opposition to former mindsets is a result of an Oedipal competition in psychoanalytic sense. Within this context, Harold Bloom’s approaches, which he calls “the anxiety of influence” and reviews the successor-predecessor relation in poetry, examine the course of the history of poetry and the poets’ relationships with each other psychoanalytically by basing an Oedipal competition. The thoughts which Orhan Veli presents in the poetic text called “Garip” reflect the state of influence that Bloom remarks as one of the categories of the anxiety of influence and calls “kenosis”. In this category, the successor poet, who subjects the poems of his predecessors and the principles of those poems to discharge act, aims to seperate absolutely from the previous poems. In this article, both psychoanalytic dimension of poetic exposure was discussed and kenosistic interpretation of this exposure in the text called “Garip” was made based on Bloom’s approaches.
