Sezai Karakoc who has a crucial role in Turkish Literature has written poems, stories, articles and stage plays. He is well known for his different style and poems composed of unique images. So far quite a number of papers and articles have been written about the poet, his life and work. While making use of traditional figures, the poet’s stand is open to innovation and therefore earned a unique place in Turkish Literature. His poems are intensely image loaded and and also include metaphysical dimension which makes understanding a challenging task. One can easily detect unique and original images in his work ‘Ates Dansı I’ (Dance of Fire I) The poem earns a multidimensional structure with the images he uses. It is certain that by unfolding these images, the poem will be more open to understanding. The poet materializes ‘woman’ as an esthetic creature while drawing the picture of the woman suffering with pain and therefore cant help dancing with the twisting of pain. He expresses the sad and hurting incident in a way turning it to a visual feast. Ates Dansı evokes different feelings in each reading and also proves the poet’s ressurection idea.
